I did finally finish Jakes quilt, many hours of learning on the curve with the new machine. It is really fun and he loves it, though he would like it to be bigger (of course). I love the texture combination of the cord with the cotton, however would not recommend this for quilting purposes, did not add to ease of quilting! However it is done
I am working on this new quilt called "Climbing Lanterns". This is pieced using fabrics from the Michael Miller collection by Laura Gunn called Lantern Blooms. So much fun! I am making this for a friend that has a wonderful, very clever way with words. For my daughters 18th birthday she made possible the most wonderful party! Stefanie and 12 of her closest friends had a scavenger hunt. I supplied locations in our area and my friend created the riddles. It took her many hours of research and re-wording to accomplish this feat! The kids had a wonderful time and still talk about it. Thank you Gale!

Unfortunately these days, the combo of the reading glasses and sewing project is inseparable! Ahh, but life is good and I cannot complain. with age comes not only reading glasses, but mature perspective. As I am learning in this journey of life, perspective is EVERYTHING!
I love the weekends, they have become a time of renewal for me.
Did I mention that life is good?
