Jacob's color block

I have new motivation! Unfortunately my son's desire for his own quilt made with "mothers love" was not enough motivation...I purchased a long arm quilting machine and frame, it is now providing my motivation to complete the three quilts I have started!
I will attempt to quilt Jacob's this next weekend with my new Juki long arm. Should be interesting as I used brown pin-wale corduroy and an orange and white funky stripe. The pattern originally had various colors in the blocks but Jake just wanted brown and Orange...Maybe a prequel to his post high school educational choice? Trying to construct a large block 12" back with the brown and orange, but without someone just dictating to me how many of what I need to cut, I am having to think a bit!

Birthday Dinners

8 lbs of Crawfish, 4 lbs of shrimp, corn on the cob, artichokes, red potatoes, andoule sausage, and asparagus. So wonderful! Tomorrow is my sons 14th birthday and he requested a southern crawfish boil for his Birthday dinner. I have made this a few times before and we always love it! it is very spicy and filling. It was supposed to feed 6 but ended up feeding our family and the neighbor families on each side of us!
Did I mention that my son is turning 14? He is my youngest, when did he become a young man? He is a very gentle guy, can occasionally be found snuggling on the couch with his mom. Life goes by so quickly! I am blessed, both of my children daily make me proud!
