I am so thankful for my "old friends", spending time with them is like wearing my favorite sweatshirt or wrapping up in my favorite well worn blanket. It is comfortable, honest and real. I spent the evening with a friend that I have known for almost 20 years. We met when she was pregnant with her first child, we became fast friends and learned how to be moms together. I love her so much, she is one of the nicest people I know, and whenever something good happens to her, I honestly know that no one deserves it more! We are about as different as we can be, I think that is why we have been friends so long. She is tall and thin...I am neither...She is thoughtful and cautious...I am adventurous and impulsive, but when we are together we are balance. When we sew together, I always make the first cut, she takes care of the details. Then there are our commonalities... These days we both are much grayer, less judgmental, more loving, more faithful and less legalistic. More in love with our husbands than 20 years ago and finally - finally, all these years later, finding ourselves. We were laughing tonight as we shared our most recent parenting stories, did we ever think we would be HERE? Though we have had very different paths in our journey of life, they always cross at just the right times, for that - I am so thankful! My friend, you are loved!
